☁️Upload

Users can upload their own articles of interest into Pressify. These articles will only be available to the user unless they choose to shared it with others via "Collections". Uploader's email and upload date will be shown below article title upon upload.

Upload Methods

Pressify features 3 upload methods:

Auto Tag Generation

During upload, Pressify will automatically generate document tags based on the content. These tags are then categorised into different categories with colours for quick identification.

Auto Translation

All content uploaded into Pressify in vernacular language will be translated into English for users. However, original vernacular text is still kept and can be toggled back easily.

For Manual Upload, "I am adding an article in vernacular" must be toggled to enable translation.

Upload from URL

  1. Select "Upload from URL" from the "Upload" dropdown list.

  2. Copy the URL of interest from website.

  3. Paste URL and select "Submit".

  4. Pressify will pull information from the website, and will automatically populate the following fields in Pressify's in-built editor:

    • Source URL

    • Title

    • Publication timezone, Publication Date & Time

    • Publication Content

    • Recommended tags will also be automatically generated based on the content.

These fields can be edited by the uploader if required.

  • If the URL contains an article with vernacular language, a pop-up for english translation will be available in the editor.

  1. Select upload collection

    • All articles must be stored in a collection upon upload. Articles uploaded into collection are private unless shared.

    • User can upload articles to:

      • An 'Existing collection' by selecting from the list.

      • A 'New collection' by typing in collection name and selecting "Create new collection ...".

  2. Select / Input Tags

    • To add recommended tags, users can add them into "Tags" by selecting it.

    • To add manual tags, click the "+" button beside "Tags" and either select from the list of existing tags or enter a new tag to create it.

  3. When ready, select "Publish.

    • The user will no longer be able to modify the article after publication.

  4. Article uploader is shown below the title upon successful upload.

Upload from file

Upload from file (Individual Upload)

  1. Select "Upload from File" from the "Upload" dropdown list.

  2. Choose the file to be uploaded

  3. Fill in the following details.

    • Required:

      • Upload Collection, Title / Headline, Publication timezone, Date & Time, Content.

    • Optional:

      • Source URL.

    • Tags:

      • Recommended tags will also be automatically generated based on the content.

      • User can also manually add tags.

    • Vernacular Translation:

      • If you are uploading an article in vernacular language, an option to translate the article will appear.

Upload from file (Bulk upload)

  1. Select "Upload from File" from the "Upload" dropdown list.

  2. Select "Bulk Upload" on the upload modal.

  3. Select the CSV that you want to upload. It should contain the following fields:

    • Required Fields:

      • title

      • content

      • published date - in DD/MM/YYYY format

      • published time - in hh:mm format

    • Optional Fields:

      • url - a working link. Broken links will result in upload failure

      • vernacular title

      • vernacular content

      • tags - separated by comma (e.g world economic forum, bbc, cna). Tags added via upload will be added as misc tags

      The upload will fail if the files does not fit the template

CSV Upload Guidelines

File requirements

  • Must contain at least one data row.

  • CSVs with no rows or only headers will be rejected.

  • Maximum limit: 1,000 articles per upload.

Headers

  • Must include at least one of the following: “title” or “content”.

  • Header names must match exactly (case-insensitive).

  • Spacing within header names must be exact; trailing spaces are allowed.

  • Order of headers does not matter.

  • If there are duplicate headers, only the first occurrence will be processed; others will be ignored.

Values

  • Special characters (e.g. !@#$%&*()) are allowed and won’t block parsing.

  • Formatting issues won’t stop the CSV from uploading, but errors will appear during the review phase and must be fixed before publishing.

Tags

  • Multiple tags must be separated with commas.

  • Duplicate tags will be automatically removed.

  • Tags may be assigned to a category using the format: tagname:tag category

  • If the category is omitted, the tags will be assigned to "misc" category, unless the tag already exists.

  • If the tag already exists, its category will be aligned to the pre-existing global category.

  • You can view all available tag categories here.

  • Tags containing "pressum", ":", or " : " will be automatically removed.

  • All existing tag restrictions also apply during import.

  1. Articles that has missing information from the required fields will be flagged out.

  1. Correct any invalid or incorrectly formatted details in the mandatory fields highlighted in red.

  2. When all articles no longer have incorrect / missing mandatory fields, they are ready to be uploaded, click on "Publish all" button.

  1. Select the collection for the articles to be added into.

  1. A notification will be appear once the uploads have been successfully submitted for processing. Users will receive a confirmation email about the upload status once the upload has finished processing.

Manual Entry

  1. Select "Use Blank Template" from the "Upload" dropdown list.

  2. Fill in the following details.

    • Required:

      • Upload Collection, Title / Headline, Publication timezone, Date & Time, Content.

    • Optional:

      • Source URL.

    • Tags:

      • Recommended tags will also be automatically generated based on the content.

      • User can also manually add tags.

    • Vernacular Translation:

      • If you are uploading an article in vernacular language, an option to translate the article will appear.

      • To see english translation, select "Add Translation".

  3. When ready, select "Publish".

    Note: The tags will only appear after the article has been translated
